Success!
I made a nearly perfect coffee.
I used:
...a fresh bag of Starbucks Brand Espresso, did not pack it down. I brewed four espresso cups.
... a tablespoon or so of Starbucks Carmel Syrup
... some Starbuck Carmel drizzle
... about a tablespoon of off the shelf espresso mix.

Poured, stirred, added crushed ice to fill the glass. It came out quite palatable.

Perhaps my $6.44 Starbucks habit could come to an end.

Ironically, it cost you $7.50 to make :P

Learn to drink it black and you can save a ton of money then.

Once you go black... Besides, for Steve, it's all about the caramel, not the coffee.

I didn't get the mug o' tea I was looking forward to yesterday.

Tonight I will not make that mistake.

And Curt would be proud of me...when I do drink coffee, I drink it black.

The funny thing is... I still don't like coffee. I have to have to flavors to make it drinkable.

Okay, the obvious question is...

...if you have to mask the flavor of coffee before you drink...coffee...

...why drink coffee?

We live in an era where you can get caffeine in a thousand different flavors, shapes and sizes. If you don't like coffee, get your kick somewhere else. Start here.

Mints are great caffeine delivery systems, as they allow you to pretty carefully control dosage, and keep your breath fresh.

I was astonished to see they've caffeinated sunflower seeds. And soap.

I have tried drinking a diet soda with two caffeine pills in the AM, but it just didn't kick right.

There are lots of tea options out there. I could go on for a long time about teas, and all the benefits therein.

There's also this stuff I don't like called Yerba Mate. It's South American tea like drink that apparently has a much flatter stimulant curve. Rather than the jolt at the start and the relatively rapid drop, it builds and stays at a decent level of stimulus for longer. It's a big hit amongst the grad students of the world these days. Maybe I didn't make it right. I think they serve it at Starbucks. :P

I used to have all these friends that worked at Starbucks, so they always gave me my drinks for free. Now they have all gone on to bigger and better things and I cannot bring myself to actually PAY for Starbucks coffee. I have also been spoiled by Belgian coffee...drool...chocolate waffles and coffee.
